On the night of December 10, 1912, at approximately 6:15 PM,
Officer John Shaw of the Virden Police Department was shot and
killed in the line of duty. Below find the letter from National Law
Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund documenting that Shaw is
included on the National Memorial in Washington, D.C..
